Privacy Policy

My Steady Circle ("we," "us," or "our") operates the My Steady Circle mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights regarding your personal information.

By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Who We Are

My Steady Circle is a consumer social wellness application that lets you record short video check-ins and share them with a group of trusted people (your "circle"). It is not a clinical, medical, or treatment service. No healthcare provider, clinician, or licensed professional reviews your videos or communications through this App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address. This is used to identify your account and send you transactional messages (invite confirmations, account notifications).

Videos
If you are a subscriber, you can record and submit short video check-ins through the App. Videos are stored on our servers and shared with the circle members you have chosen.

Encouragement messages
Circle members can send short text messages (up to 250 characters) to the subscriber they support. These messages are not permanent records — they expire automatically 24 hours after being sent.

Circle invitations
When you invite someone to join your circle, we collect the email address you provide for that person in order to send the invitation.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

Location
When you record a video, the App captures your device's geographic location (latitude and longitude) at the moment you open the recording screen. This is a single foreground capture — the App does not track your location in the background, continuously, or at any other time. Location is attached to your video check-in record and shared with your circle members as a "last known location."

The App will request your permission before accessing your location. You may decline location access; recording will still work but no location will be shared with your circle.

Push notification token
If you enable push notifications, the App stores a device push token so we can send you notification alerts (such as video reminders and encouragement notifications). We do not use this token for advertising.

Device and usage data
We collect basic technical information needed to operate the App (device platform, app version, crash reports). We do not collect advertising identifiers or build behavioral profiles for advertising purposes.

2.3 Payment Information

Subscriptions are managed through Stripe, a third-party payment processor. When you subscribe, you are directed to a Stripe-hosted checkout page in your device browser. We never see or store your payment card number, expiration date, or CVV. We store only your Stripe customer ID and subscription status, which are opaque identifiers used to verify whether your subscription is active.

We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, sell your data, or make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

4. How Long We Keep Your Information

If you delete your account, we will delete your user account, associated video check-in records, circle membership records, and Cognito credentials. Some information may be retained in encrypted backups for a short period before being purged.

5. Who We Share Your Information With

Your circle members
Videos you record, and the location captured at recording time, are shared with the people you have invited to your circle. Circle members can view your videos and see your last known location. You control who is in your circle.

We use third-party service providers who process data on our behalf under contractual obligations to protect it. These include:

Legal requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.

Business transfers
If we are acquired, merge with another company, or transfer our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information is subject to a materially different privacy policy.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties for advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising purposes.

6. Your Privacy Rights

6.1 California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act:

6.2 Washington State Residents (My Health MY Data Act)

If you are a Washington State resident, the Washington My Health MY Data Act (MHMD) provides additional protections for consumer health data. Location data and wellness-related content you share through this App may qualify as consumer health data under MHMD.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we are committed to protecting your information using commercially reasonable means.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, contact us at mysteadycircle@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of the revised policy constitutes your acceptance.
